Sensei Viet Doan
Godan,5th Degree Blackbelt
Sensei Viet was born in Saigon, Vietnam.
As a young boy he was introduced to the martial arts studying 8 years
of Gung Fu under the influence of his Monk and teacher Thay 3
His training continued as he served in the Vietnam reserve army. After
6 years in the army, he left his family and Vietnam and came to Canada
in 1985.
Viet settled in Winnipeg where he met his future wife, Sandra (a Ni-dan
or 2nd degree Blackbelt herself).
Viet joined Fulton Jiu Jitsu and was tutored by Sensei Ron Fulton where
he achieved Go-dan or 5th Degree Blackbelt after 20 years of
training.
After the passing of his Sensei, Viet started his own Jiu-Jitsu
club: Minh-Duc Jiu-Jitsu Self-Defense in
2005.
